Qatar Airways has announced a deal with American plane manufacturer Boeing during the US president’s visit; totaling to a 96 billion dollar deal. The deal includes the manufacturing of up to 210 widebody jets from Boeing, 160 of which are the 777X ,rest are the 787 model. The planes will be equipped with GE Aerospace engines instead of Rolls-Royce’s Trent 1000 for the 787s. As for the 777X, they can only be equipped with Aerospace GE9X engines. The deal was struck during the second stop of the US president, Trump, during his Gulf states tour. The president mentioned that this was the largest order of planes from Boeing in its history. Qatar Airways and Emirates are the first two airlines to have ordered the 777X model when Boeing launched the model back in 2013.
