Remove Default Themes in WordPress

Question was raised about to disable the default installed themes from WordPress being reinstalled or added after every major update.

Believe it or not there is an undocumented setting you can set in your wp-config.php file to disable the default themes from installing.

Open the wp-config.php file in your favorite editor, either by downloading the file from your WordPress default directory or via the terminal in an SSH session.

Add the following constant to the file:

CORE_UPGRADE_SKIP_NEW_BUNDLED

Either save and close the file via the terminal or re-upload the file via your ftp connection. You now have disabled any default themes from being installed after an major update.
